Protocols on this site are organised as one logical descent, from concrete to foundational. Domain protocols sit at the top: each one is a light, per-domain agreement that fixes which data a field of work shares and what it means. They all build on the same shared base protocol below them.
Domain protocols
A domain protocol standardises a single field of work. It carries no base-layer mechanism of its own; it reuses the base protocol for the envelope, addressing, encryption, anchoring, verification, identity, and the register.

Roadmap taxonomies
Further domain taxonomies are being explored and are named here as roadmap only, with no page and no claim that they are running: health-data sharing, digital product passports, and press-release provenance. Each would be a light per-domain agreement on the same base protocol, not a new base layer.
Propose a domain protocol
These taxonomies are developed in public. Organisations, implementers, and domain experts can join an existing taxonomy effort or start a new taxonomy effort where a field needs its own shared meaning. The contribution process sets out the lifecycle, the acceptance criteria, and a proposal template to work from.
